  • Does anyone here have Adrenal Fatigue?

My son went into secondary adreanl failure the cause of the failure was lyme disease. Note that the lyme testing often comes back negative, additional bands often appear positive after starting treatment. We treated my son at Hansa in wichita Kansas and they were able to restore his adrenal function. http://hansacenter.com

@@TH6031 I haven't been tested for Lyme but have wondered about that as well. Thank you for the suggestion. :-)

@JA6650'... I'm so sorry you and your daughter are suffering with these things. I can totally relate to both of you. My heart breaks for you & I hope deep in my heart that you find answers to these issues. <3

I had a period of adrenal fatigue and have adrenal surges. The fatigue followed a bout of recurring viral meningitis. Essentially, after misdiagnosis and treatment by a neurologist, i was introduced to Dr. Kendal Stewart of www.neurosensorycentersofamerica.com Among other things, he is an SME on neurotransmitters and their interaction with the endocrine system including the thyroid and adrenal glands. You can find many educational videos about these topics at www.neurobiologix.com. Ultimately, we relieved my chronic dopamine deficiency through a mix of prescription and supplements. I also made lifestyle changes based on Dr. Wilson's Adrenal Fatigue book which helped as well. In May of this year because i again was experiencing bout of issues with my adrenal glands, i started a wellness program through Dr. Elizabeth Seymour whose testing taught me about two additional chemicals tied to adrenals -- glycene and glutamate--where i had only known about the epinephrine and norepinephrine as the excitatory neurotransmitters. More importantly, i learned more about the connection between the adrenals and hormones. I started hormone replacement therapy and that has made a big difference and, no, it hasn't reversed my memopause or reatarted periods. Having dopamine is essential to balancing ... More

Yes, I have chronic Adrenal Fatigue and very low energy on daily basis and "doing things" is a huge struggle, and I experience regular "crashes". My adult daughter is in much worse shape however, and is bedridden due to being in very advanced stages of AF. I know the medical system says Adrenal fatigue is not a "real thing" but I don't believe them. My daughter is nearly dying of it and they say she should be "fine" because her vitals show up as okay.

If you have adreanl fatigue, get tested for lyme disease. There are 300,000 new lyme cases a year and many of those suffering from lyme disease experience adrenal fatigue and adreanl insufficiency.

Adrenal Fatigue really doesn't exist... I was shocked to find out that terminology is outdated. There is a communications between our brain and the kidneys. I included the video if you want to educate yourself... http://highintensityhealth.com/why-adrenal-fatigue-may-not-exist-circadian-rhythm-imbalances-by-c...

Try some phosphatidylserine, 100 mg/day, in the a.m. This is good for cortisol surges. It takes 8 hours or so to "work" hence taking it in the a.m. Surges usually happen at night/middle of the night. I'd ask your doc first, of course.

I just had QXCI testing and it showed that my adrenals are shot.

You should not buy supplements based on SNPs alone. Those software are good to give you some guidance but you will need a practitioner to guide you on what is the best for your body. You should be able to find someone to help you at www.MTHFRdoctors.com

I, too, received a diagnosis of adrenal fatigue a while back and my wonderful functional doc suggested rhodiola for use in the morning and ashwaganda before bed. Both are herbal supplements, widely used, and, from what I understand, quite safe. Also, try building yoga or a mindfulness practice into your life, These needn't cost anything if you just do a little googling to find a site to guide you. Gosh, I wish insurance companies would acknowledge the value of these "alternative" methods. Best wishes!

@DL7012, can I ask the website you used to run your DNA info through, to find out what supplement are good for you? I too am on SSDI & cannot afford to see an expensive specialist that is not covered under my insurance. Thank you! -Jamie

Thank you for the Iink! I have MS as well and live on a very tight budget because of SSDI....I ran my dna report through a site that tells you what supplements are good to take for your snp's. Is that as good? Most doctors on this level do not accept Medicaid / Medicare. Thank you for any help you can give me.:-)

My Adrenal fatigue was multifaceted. A couple of years ago I had no energy, slept long hours + 1-2 naps a day. I have Lichen Sclerosis (skin disease), and Hashimoto's disease (hypothyroid); both are auto-immune issues. My naturopath ordered saliva testing; result, my Cortisol was very low. Worked with psychotherapist and massage therapist for stress and anxiety. I took desicated adrenal supplements to support the adrenals until they were functioning well again, HPA Adapt for stress resistance, Methyl B12, Vitamin E and Moducare. Now I take a much higher dose of Synthroid, have normal energy and Cortisol levels, experience far less stress and anxiety, and the Lichen Sclerosis is nearly gone.

Thank you very much for your response & information! I really appreciate it! I will have to look around for a practitioner in NJ that can help me with supporting the other pathways before trying to start the B12 & Folate again. Thanks so much!!!

@SI4275 - I wanted to let you know that your 23andme data can be entered into the MethylGenetic Nutrition Analysis by a doctor who has the program -http://gettoknowyourdna.com/. I had the same health conditions as you and my doctor and I found supplement solutions for everything! I'm a CNC and at the professional seminars about methylation, I learned that the other 4 methylation pathways MUST be supported before taking any B12 and folate. I have the extensive food sensitivity issue also - Professional Health Products Histamine Scavenger and probiotics are helping my gut heal.
