I am 62 now & have had headaches more of my life now than not! I had been taking Fiorinal and or Treximet when the Fiorinal didn't work. Went to numerous doctors with no luck & by chance I saw one of the nurse practitioners that works under my doctor. I say it was a "God thing" that I got her as she put me on Atenalol 25 mg for 3 weeks. I take them at bedtime & the 2nd day I woke up without the "vice-like clamp" on the back of my head type of headache! After 3 weeks she up my Atenalol to 50mg nightly at bedtime & every time I see her now I give her a hug & tell her she saved my life or gave it back to me as the pain had gotten so bad I was house bound! We both had tears of joy. Atenolol is a Beta Blocker for heart problems/blood pressure but I don't have those problems, just the headache! SOOOO, if you are still having headaches, please don't be afraid to ask you health care provider if you might be able to try a Beta Blocker. Good luck to you! I did and I backed off to half a capsule and now I am all good.
